Four Months Old

Four Months Old
Four months old and counting. It's hard to believe that she was born four months ago but here we are. She is just the most fun thing in the world. She is very social and loves being around people...sound like anyone you may know?

Things she worked on this month...
Rolling from her back to her belly
Holding on to toys
Eating her hands

I have gone back to work which has been great and terrible at the same time. The days are long and the weekends are difficult, but this too shall pass. Luckily I have an amazing and helpful husband to make things better.

I am now going to plug my online store. Please visit it at boobaloobaby.etsy.com. I have always wanted to open my own store and decided to start here. I make baby items and jewelry. PLEASE visit!!!

The dr suggested that we start rice cereal to get her used to eating. This was the result. We decided it's not worth the mess since it all ended up outside of her mouth instead of in it. She thought it was a wonderful game though.

This is the kitchen door the day of the March blizzard.

A daddy and his girl. Notice the dirt on Bill's upper lip, he decided to grow a "copstache" since it's the only facial hair they allow. It didn't last longer than a day. I must have complained too much.

Eating her rattle

Every night before bed we read a book. This one is her favorite. Or at least it's our favorite.

Bath time froggy

Gouda ripped off her duclaw and it was a huge ordeal. The vet wrapped it up but that didn't stop Gouda from getting to it. She ended up with a cone for a week. It was truly very funny. She already thinks she's a small dog and it just made the problem worse.
Nana bought Lilah these great rattle socks for Christmas. She was trying so hard to get to them.

Doing push ups and working on those guns....have you bought a ticket to the gun show?

She wiggled her arm out of the swaddler and when I went to check on her this is what I found. I thought it was just too cute.

Sweet and sleeping.

This is her "I just woke up" face...too funny

Oh how time flies

Lilah is TWELVE WEEKS OLD!!! Oh how the time flies. Major things that have happened lately...
She can now stay up on her hand and elbows for lengthy periods of time
She can roll over (front to back both directions)
She is becoming more aware of her hands and is grabbing at things and actually holding on.

Most of all she is just so much fun. She is laughing out loud which is one of the best sounds we have ever heard. I know one of my favorite times of day is in the morning when I get her out of bed and she is so smiley and loves seeing me. I'm sure the best part of Bill's day is coming home because she just lights up when she sees him.

The worst part about her being 12 weeks old is that I know soon and very soon I'll be going back to work. I'm very excited to see the kids and get back to school, but of course I don't want to leave Lilah. Thankfully God has blessed us with two wonderful people to watch her. Phyllis Giddings, the mother of a great friend whom I've known for years, will be watching her three days a week. The other two days she will be with a mother a student who I had for two years. Both woman have big hearts for kids and both are wonderful Christian ladies, which makes me super happy.

I finally added some videos. The are at the bottom.

Lilah doing some tummy time

Gouda and Biscuit snuggling at bed time

Lilah loves tummy time and was laughing at Chicken. You'll have to excuse the naked baby bum. She had a terrible diaper rash so we were airing it out as much as possible.

Stare down

I put up these black and white patterns by her changing table. She loves to look and laugh at them.

Looking at the patterns

She holds her hands a lot. I think it's super cute

She has her Baby Legs on. They are like leg warmers for babies and you can use them for all sorts of things like sleeves and stuff. I was sick of taking her pants on a off one day so she just had her baby legs on which makes changing diapers so much easier.

Auntie Em got her an oh so cute onsie from Wicked, which happens to be mommy's favorite musical.

In her Bumbo. She likes to sit up and is doing a pretty good job so far. Of course she can't do it unassisted but the Bumbo sure does help her get the feel of sitting up.

Beautiful

She wanted so disparately to grab the toy but just could not get her hand to it. So she just stared at it.

The first video is of her rolling over. Again you'll have to pardon the nakedness, she still had the diaper rash when I filmed it. The second video is of her playing with the cow toy.

Two Months and Counting

Lilah is over two months old!!! 91/2 weeks to be exact. I know she is growing fast but really don't realize it until people who have not seen her in a while point it out. Her buddy Alex is not much older than her and they weigh almost the same so I have no other babies to compare her to. Today we went to school for Valentines parties and everyone loved seeing her. It's always nice when people tell you how beautiful your child is, even though I already knew it. She was held by seven different people, bombarded with students, in the middle of tons of noise, and she didn't seem to mind one bit.

Important things:
She found her hands and often tries to put them in her mouth. Most of the time she just plays with them.

She is sleeping through the night. Goes down between 7:30 and 8:30 and sleeps until at least 4:00 am, and sometimes later.

She is a regular conversationalist and loves to sit and chat over breakfast and dinner.

Right now you are only getting pictures but we hope to put some videos of her up. Apparently our video camera and computer are not compatible so we cannot pull any videos off of it at the moment. Hopefully sometime soon!

We had a pair of booties that were wonderful and never came off but we could not find them anywhere else. So I took them apart and made new ones in all different colors. These are her new cream colored booties.

Chicken and Biscuit got hair cuts. They were starting to look homeless.

Love her

Lilah's buddy Alex. They do coffee together, hang out at church, go to dinner...you know...buddy stuff. Notice the matching car seat covers, they are so in style.

Ever since we got dogs Sunday mornings were snuggle time. The dogs would pile onto the bed and we would all snuggle together. Well now that Lilah is here she snuggles too. Let me just say that WE DO NOT HAVE A FAMILY BED....we just like to snuggle on Sunday mornings. Bill and I like our bed to be ours.

Biscuit just cannot get enough of Lilah. He snuck as close as her could to her.

I could not resist this photo. When Biscuit wants attention he gently lays his paw on you. He was so cute trying to lay his paw on Lilah's hand.

This is her cow that she likes to play with. Well...not so much play as just bat and laugh at. It was given to her by the Fritzler girls.

Cuteness

She has such a strong core. She is already trying to sit up by herself and has held her head up for a long time. She will even stand for a while supported. We call this Super Lilah!!!

Happy baby

Lilah is almost 7 weeks old and it's really very hard to believe. We have had so much fun getting to know her and learning our new life with her in it. She is just a wonderful baby. She is almost sleeping through the night (she only wakes up once) and is starting to get into a regular routine. Our day is filled with eating, burping, spitting up (a lot), changing clothes (because of the spit up), walking around in the Moby carrier (which I love by the way and recommend it to everyone with babies), staring at the tapestry on the wall, pooping, and smiling. She is a very content baby and easy to take care of.

The dogs just love her and are always very interested in what she is doing. They treat her very gently and great with her. The best part is that their barking doesn't bother
I just love this picture.

This is her one month old picture. We kept forgetting to take it and I happened to remember when she was sleeping. I'm realizing that if I don't do things the second I remember them I forget ten seconds later and it never gets done. She is laying next to her pig Winifred (which is what we told everyone Lilah's name was before she was born). We bought her in Epcot in the England section when we went on our babymoon this summer. The guy who sold it to us is playing Yaxley in the next Harry Potter movie. We got our picture taken with him. It's our claim to fame.

This is a true reflection on Lilah's personality. She is just so happy.....and covered in spit up

What's up?

Chubby cheeks

We love taking sleeping pictures of her.

Sitting pretty. Isn't she just the cutest???

She woke up and was sucking on her hand and eventually found her thumb. It was too cute not to take a picture of it.
